About Us
All praise is due to Allah the Most High and may the peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad, his family and his Companions.
With the grace of Allah, the Most Exalted, In 1998 Dar as-Sunnah Publishers established itself as a private publishing business enterprise. The first book published by Dar as-Sunnah was in 1999. Our humble beginnings started from a bedroom and then developed into an International company. At Dar as-Sunnah we take every care in producing works of high quality, this has been our hallmark, where no effort is spared when it comes to our publications; we undertake this noble and sacred task with utmost diligence, but perfection is only with Allah.
We are committed to supporting community based programmes as well as supporting institutions that further the advancement of learning, research and academia.
Dar as-Sunnah has produced translations of works of great importance to the Islamic faith both from classical sources of Islamic heritage and works of contemporary authors. All of our publications have an over arching principle of carrying the message of the Qur’an and the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), which has been at the centre of our published works, from the very beginning. With this balanced approach in mind we hope to develop an understanding of Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims alike, as well academics and those undertaking Islamic studies in various educational institutions though out the world.
Over the years we have keenly focused on Classical works from early Islamic history. Some of our published works are over a thousand years old, which are key Islamic texts from the early Islamic period, which at times is referred to as the gold age of Islam.
Our aim has been to publish high quality works that will enhance the spiritual, educational and social needs of the English speaking world and to contribute to the intellectual discourse on Islam and early Islamic civilisation, covering a wide range of different Islamic sciences and disciplines.
Some of our works consist of series of books of various well known Islamic authorities of the early period of Islam, to name a few Imam Ibn Jawzi, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, Imam Ibn Qayyuim and Imam Ibn Rajab.
With this vision in mind we hope that our readership has benefited from our published works and successes is only with Allah, May he accept this small effort from us and make it a means of forgive our sins and shortcomings. Ameen.
